A mechanic worth mentioning is the damage over time behavior, some elements of the game like Plasma Beams and Force will hit the colliding objects constantly at the end of short time intervals. These intervals start/reset each time the colliding object enters the damage zone.
This mechanic can be used strategically (abused) by rapidly moving outside/inside of the collision area, increasing the damage done to an enemy.
Another way the player could benefit from this mechanic is by quickly entering and leaving an enemy’s Plasma Beam area to rapidly absorb energy from its attack.
